[18:26:56] <bill-auger> rickbol: thats question is not hardware related - the procedure is same for any distro and any computer - you wuold need to re-configure the bootloader (probably u-boot)
[18:28:41] <bill-auger> IIRC if the file /boot/boot.scr explains how - i suppose there is some detail on the debian or armbian wikis
[18:30:32] <bill-auger> also if you are trying actual debian, i would suggest that support for olimex computers is probably better with armbian
[18:32:56] <bill-auger> my experience is the opposite per the HDMI of lime2 and parabola's bootloader/kernel - i can never see the boot loader, but once the kernel starts, then the display tyurns on
[18:56:51] <rickbol> bill-auger: Thx. I'm familiar with grub, but not u-boot. Do you know if boot.scr supports a "sleep x" command?
[19:10:30] <bill-auger> no clue - you would need to learn a new trick or two, in order to customize debian-style uboot - i usually use uboot4extlinux, which can be re-configured at any time per a plain text file, in a format more familiar to GRUB users
[19:12:16] <bill-auger> i would recommend using armbian or parabola on olimex computers
[19:14:53] <bill-auger> and o/c there is frreedombox - archarm also may have an install image, not sure about it bootloaders though - i could help you with parabola or frreedombox
[19:22:57] <rickbol> Thx Bill. This is a Freedombox, but I've upgraded to Trixie and I think it has setup some things differently. I don't think Olimex has a new Trixie image yet, and of course, that's a full-reinstall, instead of an upgrade.
[19:46:40] <bill-auger> i am in the process f doing the same - the update is supposed to be postponed iuntil september
[19:49:19] <bill-auger> the upgrade to "trixie" is scheduled for september, so most ppl have not done it yet
[19:49:31] <bill-auger> if something failed during upgrade, we should discuss this in the #freedombox channel on OFTC

[17:48:11] <rickbol> I'm running debian Trixie on an A20-OLinuXino-LIME2. During boot, the connected hdmi monitor displays initial boot info, but then clears the screen, resets the cursor to the top left corner. Then the connected hdmi monitor reports no connection, and goes to sleep. cat /proc/cmdline returns "console=ttyS0,115200 quiet". where can I modify kernel boot parameters?[18:26:56] <bill-auger> rickbol: thats question is not hardware related - the procedure is same for any distro and any computer - you wuold need to re-configure the bootloader (probably u-boot)
