[17:21:17] <w0ll3q1uszxabiwo> and i feel like i am missing something important
[17:26:51] <w0ll3q1uszxabiwo> Like the freedombox is A20 which is dual Cortex-A7, but then there is also A33 which is Quad Cortex-A7 for around the same price
[17:27:09] <w0ll3q1uszxabiwo> and sameish power consumption
[17:28:34] <w0ll3q1uszxabiwo> but then if it's a server then don't you rather want A64 which seems to be more power efficient?
[17:36:29] <w0ll3q1uszxabiwo> like the A33 is 32-bit is that important in terms of power efficiency and management somehow that i don't see?
[17:36:40] <w0ll3q1uszxabiwo> bcs like why bother and not just get the A64
[21:43:48] <ndufresne> @here if anyone still using A20 and is struggling getting codecs to work, on that SoC you must not set "cma=" to the kernel command line, that would result in the kernel creating a different pool then the one in the device tree, which least to addresses too high, and cause all image to be green (or system hang sometimes)
[21:44:30] <ndufresne> (I'm learning that nearly 3 years after I started investigating this issue)
[23:16:08] <w0ll3q1uszxabiwo> ndufresne: the sunxi-linux wiki is probably better place for this though
[23:19:23] <ndufresne> I don't think I have ever authored there, I only post here cause its here that someone once asked me how to make gst works
[23:19:45] <ndufresne> And the answer is that it wasn't gst, I'll probably add direct render in kmssink later on, now that it work for me
