[10:15:10] <leon-anavi> morning
[12:06:49] <plaes> heya! :)
[12:07:07] <plaes> do you have anything with comes with at least 4 ethernet ports? :)
[12:42:43] <Tsvetan> plaes no
[16:38:21] <malina> not sure there is one with 2. at least not Gigabit
[16:38:44] <malina> but your 'latest and freshest' is meant to be released in march, right?
[19:11:57] <jo0nas> plaes: beware that some devices with multiple ports do not have dedicated ports but a switch controller and software-controlled vtags
[19:16:38] <jo0nas> see e.g. the notes at https://linux-sunxi.org/Lamobo_R1#Security_Implications
[19:19:58] <jo0nas> if you are looking for a cheap solution and the security implications of running a custom-tagged switch instead of true routing is acceptable, then an alternative is to use a simpler board and a separate cheap VTAG-capable dedicated switch
[20:47:51] <spicy_icecream> ye, that was done actually in a router package which was part of so mnay homes here as main router and some still have it. we put openwrt on it, and I could reprogram the phy gpio dts tree somethng something and the traffic was suddenly all vidsiable on both sides .. etc. definitely wasn't happy abut it, but with tat said, I kept a few which I use as wireguard vpm routers
[20:47:58] <spicy_icecream> vpn*
[21:24:14] <plaes> well, I have to put up bunch LTE gateways to ~20+ remote locations and then send out some simple data few time a day
[21:24:51] <plaes> and each location has few Lime2 devices that need networking...
