IRC #olimex 2019-04-04

[09:28:03] <leon-anavi> morning
[20:12:03] <Antitrack> can anyone tell me why my olimex a20 has a new mac adress every reboot, and what to do about it ?
[21:23:33] <jo0nas> Antitrack: which operating system do you run on ti?
[21:23:36] <jo0nas> it*
[21:26:26] <jo0nas> you should probably ask those providing you the software - the hardware may lack a mac address but then the software should handle that (or it may even be a feature for some system to deliberately randomize MAC)
[21:33:58] <Antitrack> (ftp://staging.olimex.com/Lub-clients/sunxi-spi-emmc/a20-lime2_mainline_uboot_sunxi_kernel_3.4.103_jessie_eMMC_SPI_rel_17.zip
[21:34:24] <Antitrack> debian jessie with kernel 3.4.103 and the sunxi/olimex addons
[22:19:45] <jo0nas> then you are asking the right place and just need to wait for regular business hours for someone from Olimex to respsond, I guess...
[22:20:39] <jo0nas> if you are not depending on that particular system, then you could also try use Purely Debian
[22:21:33] <jo0nas> ah no - if your device is a recent one with eMMC then it won't work with regular Debian at the moment, sorry
[22:24:02] <Antitrack> yes it IS with eMMC and SPI boot and u-boot and etc.etc. (olimex a20 lime2 emmc rev k)
[22:29:13] <jo0nas> right
[22:30:30] <Antitrack> and display rev. c
[22:30:39] <Antitrack> (ext. 1024x600 display)
