[09:01:14] <leon-anavi> morning
[09:17:56] <jo0nas> morning!
[12:26:35] **************** Logging Ended ****************
[12:48:34] **************** Logging Started ****************
[17:35:35] <Asara> I haven't been following for a bit, i have the teres-1, how far are we from full mainline support?
[17:35:43] <Asara> I'd love to just be able to install gentoo on the darn thing
[18:04:08] <jo0nas> Asara: since Linux 3.19 sleep works
[18:06:40] <jo0nas> Mainline U-boot lack one piece (activating its USB driver, needed to connect to SD-card) - details (and patched blobs as workaround) at https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Olimex/Teres-I#u-boot
[18:15:23] <adjtm> jo0nas, do you mean since 4.19?
[18:34:02] <nedko> usb driver is probably needed for keyboard in u-boot
[18:51:04] <Asara> must be 4.19. I know pwm was merged in 4.19
[18:51:08] <Asara> Just wondering whats left
[18:52:53] <jo0nas> yes, 4.19 - sorry!
[18:53:09] <adjtm> totally off-topic, but maybe some of you like this: https://www.crowdsupply.com/sutajio-kosagi/tomu-fpga
[18:54:02] <jo0nas> others wonder too - this could use some love: https://linux-sunxi.org/Olimex_Teres-A64#Current_status
[18:59:08] <jo0nas> nedko: please read above Debian wiki reference for why USB is needed (yes USB keyboard also need USB driver but that is not what I am talking about)
[19:06:46] <nedko> i read it, but i still don't understand how usb is involved in boot from flash memory
[19:07:19] <nedko> in my reading of schematics, mmc is connected to a64 without usb being involved
[19:49:20] <jo0nas> sorry, I am not skilled in deciphering the details - just know that it fails to boot with current mainline U-boot
[23:33:07] <xcko> I'm reading through the u-boot docs and I'm not totally clear how u-boot finds the kernel to boot. Is it necessary to create the boot.scr in the debian wiki? are there default locations u-boot searches?
[23:40:45] <jo0nas> yes there are default loations - uboot-menu makes use of that
