[17:19:43] <Maksym> Hi!
[17:20:19] <braunr> hello
[17:21:16] <Maksym> Does anyone know if https://www.olimex.com/Products/DSP/Emulators/TMS320-XDS100-V3/ XDSv3 Jtag for TI has proper TI 20 pin connector on the side of the cable opposite to the Olimex board? I .e can the board be used with TI EVK http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdxevm3358?
[17:22:37] <Maksym> I mean without additional cable adapters? TI 20 pin on the EVK board has smaller pins and smaller distance between them.
[17:25:15] <braunr> funny you'd ask that, we just talked about those on #openocd :p
[17:25:50] <braunr> which olimex board ?
[17:28:14] <Maksym> TMS320-XDS100-V3
[17:28:38] <Maksym> XDS100v3
[17:28:44] <braunr> Equipped with three JTAG connectors for different JTAG layouts: TI 14-pin JTAG; TI 20-pin JTAG and standard ARM 20-pin JTAG layout
[17:28:57] <Maksym> I can read mate :)
[17:29:14] <braunr> well
[17:29:18] <braunr> they're not "compact"
[17:29:23] <Maksym> The TI ct 20 has different size
[17:29:47] <Maksym> And pictures on the Olimex site very clear what is on their _board_
[17:29:51] <braunr> yes
[17:30:17] <Maksym> But ythere are no clear pictures or doc about the _other_ side of the supplid cables
[17:30:41] <braunr> they're the same
[17:31:00] <braunr> see the faq
[17:31:30] <Maksym> OK, so answer then is "no".Sincerely thank you, that was helpful.
[17:31:34] <braunr> yep
[17:32:27] <braunr> sorry for being "blunt", i wanted you to find by yourself
[17:32:39] <Maksym> It is not there
[17:32:49] <braunr> ?
[17:33:23] <Maksym> " we don't use the 20-pin compact TI headers and connector; we use 20 pin 0.1 inch pitch connectors (which are not standard according to the TI's JTAG standard; but easier to work with). You can always use jumper wires with the 0.1" pitch connectors, which is not the case with the 20-pin CTI connecto" - this is _not_an answer
[17:33:47] <Maksym> if you mean I should be finding _the_ answer in the FAQ
[17:33:54] <braunr> it is, because of the names used
[17:34:06] <braunr> they would have used the word "compact" otherwise
[17:34:28] <Maksym> The cables do exist which have different connectors on both ends, so stating what is on the boards does not mean stating what is on the cable.
[17:35:18] <braunr> they say roughly the same for the cables when they say "compatible"
[17:35:23] <braunr> i agree it's not the clearest way to put it
[17:36:39] <Maksym> OK. It just defy the logic to have TO ct20 and ARM ct 20 at the same time on the board and still use adaptor and/or jump wires to connect to proper TI's ct20.
[17:36:56] <Maksym> TO - >TI
[17:37:10] <braunr> yes
[17:37:34] <braunr> although it's TI 20, not cTI 20
[17:37:50] <braunr> but i get what you mean
[17:38:21] <Maksym> that's why I asked, I agree on the "answer was there but not in clearest form". Thanks again. Bye now.
