[01:12:22] <BJfreeman> I am working on the STM32F417IG UFBGA176 package as a board
[01:30:12] <madze> for which project?
[01:46:11] <BJfreeman> it will be my main board for interfacing and processing board in the automative area
[01:46:23] <madze> ah
[01:46:56] <BJfreeman> as well as the 3d Print engine
[01:48:55] <BJfreeman> the H407 is 144 pin so I have to choose wht I want to work. and there are conflicts
[01:49:29] <madze> you have only the chip?
[01:51:57] <BJfreeman> will not order chip till have protoboard done
[10:47:06] <speakman> On the A13-OLinuXino-WIFI there is 4GB NAND flash onboard. Where is the partition information stored? I can't find any information in the wiki.
[10:57:05] <Tsvetan> speakman: NAND flash is written with closed source livesuit tool, so the NAND flash managment and partitions are impossible to know to the best of my knowledge, but hno may know more
[11:55:53] <speakman> Tsvetan: ok, that's sad. :(
[11:56:55] <speakman> But the Micro version does not use NAND right? Using MMC only would not use much of the closed sourced stuff?
[12:10:35] <Tsvetan> A13 linux images with SD cards use linux-sunxi GPL code
[12:13:32] <speakman> That's great :)
[12:14:30] <speakman> Do you know if there is any industrial grade products made using OlinuXino?
[12:18:34] <xenoxaos> i think i remember reading about some
[12:19:06] <xenoxaos> ACTION hopes he has a package at work today
[17:56:33] <Tanshaydar_> Hi.
[18:09:59] <Tanshaydar> Hi; I have an Olimex Allwinner A13 (512MB Ram w/o WiFi) and I need to install Android on this board, however it has no nand/flash. I need to boot from an SDcard (which I have 8gb one) but I failed in all my attempts.
[18:17:23] <Tanshaydar> Umm, anyone?
[18:25:58] <Claude> failed as in ?
[18:26:08] <Tanshaydar> Anyone here and online?
[18:26:21] <Tanshaydar> oh thanks
[18:26:36] <Tanshaydar> I built an Android image but it doesn't boot
[18:27:02] <Tanshaydar> Clarification: I use a monitor through VGA port, I don't have an LCD connected
[18:27:09] <Claude> can the A13 boot android directly from a SD card ?
[18:27:35] <Claude> iirc A13 can only boot android from nand flash , but i might be wrong
[18:29:00] <Claude> Tanshaydar, i guess you saw this? https://www.olimex.com/forum/index.php?topic=1177.0
[18:30:19] <Tanshaydar_> Sorry, my connection got lost. In the wiki it says it can.
[18:30:35] <Tanshaydar_> http://linux-sunxi.org/Boot_Android_from_SdCard
[18:30:37] <Claude> yeah seems so , sorry no expert on A13
[18:35:09] <Tanshaydar_> okay, thanks
[18:35:19] <BJfreeman> Tanshaydar_ just guiessing that some configuration changes need to be made if you don't have nand a partition onf the SD card for the internal Disk
[18:36:48] <BJfreeman> I have not done this just from observing the ANdroid on NAND
[18:37:19] <Tanshaydar_> On my board there is no NAND
[18:37:51] <BJfreeman> I suspected that
[18:40:41] <BJfreeman> have you read the steps on the link that Claudes gave
[18:42:17] <Tanshaydar> So I guess I'll have to go by Debian
[18:42:56] <BJfreeman> ?
[18:43:11] <Tanshaydar> I mean it successfully boots from SDCard
[18:43:36] <Tanshaydar> But no such luck with Android
[18:44:53] <BJfreeman> if you followed the instructions in the forum liink then post there to see what they say
[18:46:59] <Tanshaydar> Which one? Because the one who suggest you to build one.
[18:47:22] <Tanshaydar> Has some nonexistent libraries.
[18:48:01] <BJfreeman> the one Claude earlier for you
[18:48:14] <BJfreeman> gave earlier
[19:08:45] <Tanshaydar> My connection got lost I lost the link?
[19:08:48] <Tanshaydar> Can you provide it?
[19:49:31] <kgolding> Hello, I'm struggling to find instructions on how to install Debian on the A10S internal NAND. Anybody have a link please?
[22:41:41] <hno> Tsvetan, Allwinner seems to have come to senses and is getting all open now, solving the concerns we had with A20. Still can't quite beleive what we just got.
[22:43:09] <hno> kgolding, it's the same procedure as for A10. Boot from SD, use nand-part to repartition the NAND to your liking (but remember to leave nanda FAT partition). Install your rootfs of choice in suitable NAND partition.
[22:43:30] <hno> change u-boot env to load the right kernel + set the kernel command line.
[22:43:43] <hno> enjoy
[23:25:35] <wigyori> hno: allwinner will give hw docs to developers for a20? or for all other socs they make?
[23:31:59] <hno> wigyori, no. But a lot of source code which was missing, and more.
[23:32:51] <wigyori> cool. is that for a20 or for the other socs as well?
[23:33:34] <hno> a20, but a lot is shared.
[23:34:02] <hno> a20 is kind of a mix of a10 & a13.
[23:34:33] <hno> + upgraded CPU core
