FAQ

  • I see that the board has a built-in PCB antenna. However, I want to extend the range of the module. How can I connect external antenna?
  • A standard connector for an external antenna is not provided by design. You would need to perform complex hardware modifications - cut the PCB antenna and then use the ANT signal line. Refer to the schematic.
  • I want to use this module with one of your Linux-enabled boards. How can I set the settings for my network in your official image?
  • All settings are stored in "/etc/network/interfaces". Just open the file with a text editor, for example, type "nano /etc/network/interfaces".  Edit it according to your WIFI settings and save the file.
  • I have some problems with this module and your Linux-enabled boards. As soon as I try to start the network, the board hangs or restarts. How can I fix the problem?
  • Try the following solution: first create a file "/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtlcommon.conf" with
    touch /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtlcommon.conf
then access it for editing with command "nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtlcommon.conf". Inside the file insert these three lines:
    install rtl8192cu /bin/false
    install rtl8192c_common /bin/false
    install rtlwifi /bin/false
Save and close the file (Ctrl+X; Y; Enter). Finally, reboot the board with "reboot" command.
