RCWL-1604 is improved version of HC-SR04 sensor. In default mode it works like HC-SR04 GPIO mode, but it can also work as UART, I2C or 1-Wire interface.
The sensor have internal temperature compensation which allow 2% accuracy over 0°-40°C temperature range.
Interface select:
1-WIRE mode is as GPIO but on one wire first the MCU set the port as output and rise for 10us then set low and initialize port as input and wait for rising edge of the line.
UART mode 9600,N,1 have these commands: 0xF1 return firmware info, 0xA0 measure and returns H,M,L bytes
I2C mode address 0x57, write to address 0xAE 0x01 start measurement, then read three bytes from address 0xAF H,M,L
The distance is calculated = (H<<16 + M<<8 + L)/1000 in mm
