IRC #olimex 2015-11-18

[16:57:09] <asyd> anyone have bought some LCD from olimex?
[17:01:48] <asyd> there are no box, they're "nude"
[17:01:49] <asyd> right?
[17:07:13] <leon-anavi> asyd, I have a 7 inch touch screen from olimex
[17:07:34] <leon-anavi> it does not have a case (if you are asking about that)
[17:08:45] <leon-anavi> asyd, here is a video of the Olimex screen that I have: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMQmf4hype4
[17:09:01] <asyd> oh nice
[17:10:33] <asyd> i'm wondering how it's possible to use an a20+lcd as video player from my bedroom :)
[17:11:34] <leon-anavi> asyd, it depends on how would you like to use it ;) :) :)
[17:11:55] <asyd> well i'm most afraid about the video format support
[17:11:56] <leon-anavi> do you want just to play videos on it?
[17:12:39] <leon-anavi> asyd, you can run Android, Debian, Fedora and other GNU/Linux distros on A20
[17:12:43] <asyd> that the question, i have multiple ways. One is using android and the synology ds video which use the NAS to transcode in *I hope but not sure* h264
[17:12:56] <asyd> but just noticed the WHD is not supported by android
[17:14:48] <leon-anavi> I suggest to check tutorials and blog post for others first
[17:15:07] <leon-anavi> there should be a plenty of resources about playing multimedia files on A20
[17:15:11] <asyd> ok
[17:15:20] <leon-anavi> check if OpenELEC supports A20
[17:15:43] <leon-anavi> I have used it on Intel and i.MX6 and it seems as a good solution.
[17:21:58] <asyd> hm ok
[17:22:08] <asyd> sounds openelec doesn't support it
[17:38:37] <leon-anavi> asyd, yes, I also had a look and didn't see any images for Allwinner devices
[17:39:27] <leon-anavi> asyd, but there are Debian images for A20 and you can install Kodi on them: http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux#Debian
[17:44:54] <asyd> hm too bad they have no nfc reader
[18:13:11] <Tenkawa> yay I got console connectivity to my lime2 board :)
[18:13:20] <Tenkawa> getting debian ready to install :)
[18:13:52] <Tenkawa> the boot works..
[18:14:43] <Tenkawa> helps to switch flow control, dts, and such off to get minicom to actually pass keystrokes to it hehehe
[19:56:01] <sunil_> hi
[19:57:26] <sunil_> Can someone help me with RT5350F board! I bought it recently from olimex. Read the wiki on how to boot the eval board and configured the wifi and now aboe to do ssh after stopping firewall
[19:57:47] <sunil_> How can i use the board without eval board support.
[19:58:23] <sunil_> A place where i can read more about the pin configurations
[22:35:57] <SomeV> Hi! Im trying to turn on a led on an Olimexino32u4 but it seems that the led does not want to turn on. http://pastebin.com/rUHsVYMi is the code and commands Im trying to do it with. There are no errors from the commands so I am a bit lost. If anyone would care to help I would very much appreciate it.
[22:52:43] <Tenkawa> hi all
[22:52:55] <Tenkawa> my board is built and working wirelessly yay!!
[22:53:41] <Tenkawa> now if I could just get the on board storage working
[22:53:58] <Tenkawa> am I missing something really obvious?
