Hi Everyone,

I'm using an olimex EKG/EMG Shield (https://www.olimex.com/Products/Duino/Shields/SHIELD-EKG-EMG/open-source-hardware) with an Arduino UNO Rev3 to monitorize my muscle activities. Somehow the cable damaged and I realized I never confirmed the placement method with a olimex ekg/emg pro cable.

So my question is can someone please confirm where the cable in the link (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12970?_ga=2.16378358.1943120340.1679427221-616852891.1678479523) should be place by color for accurate measurement?

From the datasheet of the shield on the pinout figure the right(3) means that is it the red pin and should place on the middle of the muscle and left(1) means the blue one and should place on the end of the muscle?

Thanks forward,
Dominik ;D

Hello,

Unfortunately, I can't tell the color code. It has no schematic to see where each wire goes. Nor the video that demonstrates the cable mentions it. You can check with multimeter in continuity mode/short-cut detection mode where each goes. For SHIELD-EKG-EMG the audio jack connector that fits is this: https://imgur.com/LtjC8xF

Alternatively, ask sparkfun about it. It is not clear cable is compatible. Most important is to identify which one is ground pin (usually it should be black but who knows). Also consider our cable:
