Total noob here, just bought an A20 to play around with.

Following the FAQ from here https://www.olimex.com/wiki/A20-OLinuXino-MICRO - As a side note, it might be good to add instructions for how to disable driver signing in Windows 10, since the phoenixsuit drivers aren't signed, and will fail to install without that.

I've got Phoenixsuit detecting the board and beginning flashing, but then it hangs at 5% like this:

After around a half hour it will pop up with an error message.

I'm not sure where to go from here other than maybe just abandoning flashing over USB and getting an SD card.

Which image do you use?

Try one of these two:

1) https://www.olimex.com/wiki/images/1/18/A20_android_422_TS_USB_UART_I2C_WIFI_LAN_HDMI_LCD_800x480_release_3.torrent

2) https://www.olimex.com/wiki/images/3/38/A20_android_422_TS_USB_UART_I2C_WIFI_LAN_HDMI_LCD_1024x600_release_3.torrent

Test with another USB port directly on the computer (this might require disabling the signature enforcement again). I've had similar problems when trying to use USB hub.
