Proper standby/suspend support?

Hi,

From the power consumption PDF it seems that the A13 board draws over 1.5 W in 'standby'. The MICRO board also draws 1 W. This seems very high to me - there are tons of cheap tablets out there using this chip that have a standby power consumption much less than that. The chips have a standby mode where everything is powered down except DRAM. Is this not supported in the Linux or Android builds?

Thanks,
Kyle

Hello,

Probably there is discrepancy in the definition for "standby" in the document and your defition of "standby". In the PDF "Standby" is used for a board that hasn't entered any power down mode yet and it is also not forced to perform any intensive task. It is not sleep or power down mode.

The power down modes in Android work properly and the consumption is much lower than 1.5W.

The same modes are not working very well under Linux. There had always been problems with suspend to RAM, for example. Thus, the consumption of the Allwinner boards under Linux is higher.
