Hello,

I just bought an A20-micro and have some problems with the debian release 7. Before posting here I wanted to try the newer release 8. But nobody seeds the torrent linked here.
How can I get this image?

Thanks,
Gustav

I am currently seeding it (and have been for the last couple of days).
Can you try again?

Sorry, I just checked and it seems that the tracker is down.
I'll try to give you an alternate location.

I've made the img (A20-debian-release-8) available at : http://foo.playm.biz/a20/
Thank you very much. I downloaded the image.

I wrote it successfully to a sd-card and booted it. The hdmi-screen leaves power-save-mode but then nothing happens. It stays black. An ethernet-cable and the leds light up but the board is not asking the dhcp-server for an address.
Do you have any suggestions why it is not working?

Thanks,
Gustav

QuoteNote: in the previous Debian releases the Ethernet was auto-detected and initialized during boot BUT this was causing big delays in the start-up of the board if you didn't want to use Ethernet or if there wasn't Ethernet cable connected.

You can enable it by following these two steps:

1. To check under what name the LAN is associated write "ifconfig –a"

2. If, for example, it is under eth0 name, then write: "dhclient eth0"

This should enable the Ethernet and then SSH would also be available.

For the display, try running the supplied script
./change_display*
or
./change_display_A20_OLinuXino.sh

Thank you for your answer but this does not help me.

/etc/network/interfaces is set that eth0 is up and dhcp-client. This should work (works with release 7).

The problem is that I don't see anything on the screen and don't get a network connection. So I can not execute anything.

U can use a serial-usb cable to connect to another computer and execute the change_display script from there

@gustav: sorry, friend, I cannot help you. Personally I am using release.7 and since I have no complaints from it, I haven't switched to release.8 yet.
