Hi All,

I just received the EEG-SMT and I purchased 4 Olimex Active and 1 Olimex Passive electrodes. I've taped the passive to my ear and I have all 4 actives on my head. However, I ger a lot of noise, almost to the point of saturation on channel 1 and flatline on channel 2. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: I followed along the advice in this post, still get the same image as above.

Hey thunderfox,

Is it possible to do another test with only the passive electrode (for the feedback) and two of the active electrodes? First try the output to channel 1 (both electrodes to ch1) then try channel 2 (both electrodes to ch2). This will help us determine if the problem is a specific channel related (and possibly if it is connector/phone jack related).

Also try to rotate the two electrodes under test to determine if it is not electrode related problem.

Additionally, if it is possible can you use ElecGuru software since I'm not familiar with the software you use. We use ElecGuru during the testing and calibration process over here.

Post the resulting screenshots here or send them over the support e-mail.
