network problemei apolo

i apoligize for my poor english
so i just receive a new board a20 with a sd card loaded with debian r3 and when i try to open web browser a windows error opens with this message   "failed to execute Web Browser input/output error

i try to install iceweasel but i can not access to the repositories  apt-get update failed too
in etc/network/interfaces i have a line  "auto eth0"

i can see eth0 up if i type ifconfig, but i can not find the file NetworkManager.conf

ping google.fr failed too

can someone help me

Check the file /etc/resolv.conf to see if the correct (your) gateway is entered. Usually this is set at the default 192.168.0.1 and may need changing.  I assume you have /etc/network/interfaces set up correct.
When you do ifconfig, are there changes in the number of rx/tx packets?  i.e. is the network connection alive?

thanks for your help ,my gateway address was wrong it is working now
