Would like to port power management to 3.x branch
« on: September 13, 2013, 03:54:36 AM »
I would like to port the power management features found in the 2.6 kernel branch to the 3.x.  This would be my first time kernel hacking, so it may take a while.  Anyone have an idea of which module in the 2.6 branch was responsible for power management?

Hi sectech,
This question answered Fabio Estevam a year ago:

For battery charging driver on 2.6.35:
http://git.freescale.com/git/cgit.cgi/imx/linux-2.6-imx.git/tree/drivers/power/mxs/ddi_power_battery.c?h=imx_2.6.35_10.12.01

At that time Mike Thompson started work on this driver. More details are here:

You can contact Mike Thomson for status of this driver.
If you are going to continue work, please keep us informed on this forum.

Is anybody aware of any news regarding the Michael Thomson's driver? The yahoo thread mentioned seems to be pretty dead.

Is there any way to contact Michael except joining the yahoo group? I couldn't find any other contact.
