hi all,

I have a MOD GSM inside a big box and the user needs to be able to change the sim card quite a lot. I need to somehow either move the sim card holder or extend it so a socket can be fixed so the user can swap sims easily from the outside of the box...

Anyone any ideas? A plug in extension with a socket on the end would be very nice but not sure if such a thing exists?

Thanks

.........it looks like its going to be a solder job (to fiddly for me but know someone who can probably do it) trouble is any ideas on the leads length etc? I need about 300mm ideally

Hello bowlingo,

300mm seems a tad too much but you can always try. The easiest way would be to carefully unsolder the SD card connector and then put wires between the connector and the PCB pads it was soldered to.

I can't guarantee it would work at such distance - SD cards timings might fail but its worth the try.
