Hi,

I would like to buy ARM-USB-OCD JTAG if it has support for Panda board.

a) Does it support TI's Panda board (http://pandaboard.org/)?

b) Does it support i.MX53?

Regards,
Philby

Hey philbyjohn,

Generally all ARM processors are supported by OpenOCD. However note that very fast architectures that are meant to be debugged via alternative means might feature limited JTAG debugging options.

a) Not out-of-the-box. You will need adapter like this: http://www.lauterbach.com/frames.html?order/ord__7748.html. The layout of the pandaboard connectors follow the TI's special 14-pin JTAG layout while our debugger uses the standard 20-pin JTAG layout. There are instructions on OpenOCD on the pandaboard's wiki: http://www.omappedia.org/wiki/PandaBoard_JTAG_Debugging.

b) Yes, it does. There are .cfg files (imx53.cfg and imx53loco.cfg) in the latest version of OpenOCD.

For additional information on the OpenOCD project please visit: http://openocd.sourceforge.net/
