Hello,
is still valid the procedure described at http://olimex.wordpress.com/2012/09/06/imx233-olinuxino-get-started-making-the-arch-linux-sd-card/?
I'm trying to create a uSD but it doesn't boot. I need kernel 2.6.35-6, lastest kernel doesn't support sound yet.
Thank you

Raff

It looks correct.
Personally, I haven't been bothering with 2.x kernels now for a while, but can you show us the trace (output form UART) from boot attempt ? We could help you much more if we saw what is happening during the boot..

Hello,

thank you for your reply, I was thinking to compare a working SD with a not working one.
Here the booting log, I tried with 2 different SD and they fail at same point.
The board is a imX233-MAXI rev.B

Hmmm, to me it looks like your kernel is up and running, and now it's starting the init process (last stage of the boot). It is responsible of mouting the filesystem, and start init process.

This usually means that something is not right with the filesystem (so the second partition on the memory card). Kernel looks ok to me.

So in the guide you used, steps 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 are dealing with the root filesytem extraction to the mmc.
Also of course the preparation step needs to be ok (formatting the 2 partitions).
On your development machine, can you see the filesystem on the memorycard ? (sd*2 , ie. /dev/sdb2)

raff

yes, I can  see the sdb2 partition using PC.

I've noticed that one of 2 sd cards starts sometimes but USB and LAN are not working, looking at booting log I can that usually it restarts when dealing with usb chip.
So I suppose that the USB chip is not working.
I'll take another board to test the sd card.

I tried also an uSD card with 3.x kernel and it's not working too.

I'll do more test, thank you.
