Hi there, I've hat a lot of luck after receiving my brand new Olinuxino Maxi. I've installed ArchLinux and started to work on some gpio leds and pots. My previous background was microcontrollers so maybe that's why I made something wrong. After success of blinking 3 leds I've put a pot between following pins of gpio: 39, 9 and 40. After this my Maxi frozen and never started again ;(

Please help!! Is there something I can do or I need to replace the processor?? Have I really burned it up?

I'm afraid you've burned it up with your main input voltage (pin39 is the same voltage as your power supply). The pins don't like a voltage more than 3.3v and as the input voltage (Vin) is 6-16V you've fried it problably.

What I can make up from your notes I'm afraid that you yourself can't replace the processor. If you can find somebody in your neighbourhood who has the capabillity of desoldering and resoldering a tqfp package, you can order a brand new µP from Olimex at https://www.olimex.com/Products/Components/IC/MCIMX233CAG4C/.

succes.

Thanks for a quick response. This is what I was afraid of, so I have a possibility to resolder easily, but from what I read I also need to set proper fuses am I right?

Yes, you are right. This issue was discussed on this forum and seems that instructions on manual are all what you need to follow.

Thank you guys, Christmas beer for you. Shame on me I've learned by destroying, but I start to like the subject. Regards from snowy Poland.

Hi there, long time has passed and I've finally took my maxi to have it re-soldered. Now the chip is replaced which probably is a money waste, but I did it.

Second step would be to use bitburner. I've made a proper connection and that's what I get under linux.

Does that mean it's memory is also fried?
