When I power up the laptop, the display never lights.

Here's a video of how the power lights go: https://siasky.net/AAATK6uNoBwqQUbdHtS-2UoBv2fGoWdyXjRIFDjPdeK8ig/20200419_120609.mp4

Does anybody know what to do?

It is a bit troubling that this happened during travel. Maybe something got disconnected, like the display. It is a bit hard to disassemble it to check so I'd recommend first trying to restore the image in case it is a software fault. The image on the internal memory may get corrupted for some reason. My advice is to re-write the image on the internal memory. Follow the advice in chapter "10. Installing a fresh official image to TERES-I" on page 39 of the user's manual here:

https://github.com/OLIMEX/DIY-LAPTOP/raw/master/doc/manuals/TERES-I-rev1.5.pdf

The recommended image to prepare the micro SD card with can be downloaded from here:

ftp://staging.olimex.com/Allwinner_Images/A64-Teres/linux/xenial-teres-bspkernel-20190121_144941_EET-1_hdmi_out_v1_5.zip

If the issue persists you might need to check the connections, opening the screen is a bit hard so leave that for last.

Thanks so much for the ideas.

The issue seems to be that the display cable is pulling out of the main board when I close the lid.  I think the routing of the camera cable that is shared with it isn't providing enough length.  EDIT: There's a groove right by the mainboard that I handn't routed the cable through.  It seems to get a little more length when I do.  Getting display now =)

Glad you got it sorted. It usually matters which side of the hinge the cable goes. We've done similar miscalculation when assembling some of the units for testing.
