Title: PIC-ICD2-POCKET vs PIC-KIT3
Post by: piero86 on February 08, 2013, 03:31:08 PM
Hi,

I am new to microcontroller world, and i would know the difference between these two PIC programmers: PIC-ICD2-POCKET and PIC-KIT3. As far I read, Pic-kit3 is suitable for programming PIC32 devices; could I use it to program PIC devices like PIC-MAXI-WEB dev board or PIC-WEB dev board?

Thanks

Hey piero86,

There are many differences between the two debuggers, but from customer point of view the most important is that PIC-KIT3 works with the latest MPLAB X and PIC-ICD2-based devices lack such support. Generally speaking PIC-KIT3 is newer design than PIC-ICD2-POCKET.

Yes.

Best regards,
