Title: Single lead ECG measurement with Olimex EKG Shield
Post by: danvol23 on May 14, 2019, 11:28:38 AM
Hello,

I would like to ask you about single lead ECG acquisition from Olimex EKG Shield. I would like to acquire data just between RA and LA without the reference. Instead of the reference electrode, I would like to connect it to the virtual ground made of a voltage divider between supplying voltage and ground. Is it the correct procedure? I just want to make me sure. If there is any other way to do it, please do not hesitate to tell me.

Thank you very much,
Daniel

You always measure the potential difference between the right electrode and the left electrode - this is the essence of the design. The voltage reference is used to lower the noise, it is not a data signal, just a noise compensation.
