Title: NXP LH7A404
Post by: dross on October 08, 2015, 06:14:49 PM
Hello. I'm looking for a tool to use to de-bug one of our products that uses the NXP LH7A404 processor. Not looking to do any SW development with this - just need it or something similar that can be used for HW troubleshooting - i.e. identify processor hang ups due to bad flash, bad sram etc.

Will this work for this?

Thanks Much.

Hey Dan,

First find suitable software for the LH7A404. If it is supported in latest OpenOCD you can use Olimex ARM-USB-TINY-H or Olimex ARM-USB-OCD-H. There is a good chance that LH7A404 lacks such support. It has a popular  ARM9TDMI core but it is not clear if there is a ready-to-use script for it. The only Sharp script I see included in OpenOCD is sharp_lh79532.cfg. So you would probably need to write own script for the processor or modify the only existing one (which features ARM7TDMI core, not ARM9TDMI).

If you are in a hurry consider other options, for example, Segger's J-Link.

Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX

Bad HW probably needs HW tools and someone who has used them a lot before.

Such a someone will know the tools they need.
