Hello there,

You can also check the manual (page 18 and on): https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXino/iMX233/iMX233-OLinuXino-MAXI/resources/iMX233-OLINUXINO-MAXI_revision_I.pdf (https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXino/iMX233/iMX233-OLinuXino-MAXI/resources/iMX233-OLINUXINO-MAXI_revision_I.pdf). Note that the custom WIFI dongle is for Realtek based on RTL8188 and RTL8192 chips.

Maybe try it again with an updated ArchLinux and a 3.x kernel, I've got it working on the OLinuXino Micro http://www.jann.cc/2012/12/16/using_the_olinuxino_micro_and_a_usb_3g_modem_to_control_something_via_web.html.
