Title: EKG-EMG Shield: Electrodes, Leads, Signal Inverted
Post by: gianinna on January 25, 2015, 04:47:06 PM
I understand that the shield works on 3-lead ECG. I just want to know what we're observing on the output is? As in, when we display on ElecGuru, what should that ECG Signal be? Should it be Lead I, Lead II, or Lead III? And how do we change what ECG Lead we'd like to view?

*EDIT: Please nevermind my questions up there. I figured that to change the ECG Lead, we need to change the placement of electrodes. I think? Haha please correct me if I'm wrong* So now, which leads me to another problem..

Because I'm using the electrodes with the gel patches (those you put on the chest, not the arm straps). There are no labels on the cables so I just assumed that it followed standard coding. White: RA, Red: LL, Black: LA. And I followed the Lead II placement as seen here: http://www.rnceus.com/ekg/lead.gif

However, what I got is an inverted ECG signal. Can someone please enlighten me? I'm thinking that maybe the electrode cables aren't actually color-coded? Please help. Thanks!
