If I buy an A10 and want to add an ethernet port to make an inline intrusion prevention/detection setup is this the correct thing to buy?

Has anyone else done this? Maybe I can do it with a different board? iMX233? Or A13?
You can use any Linux-supported USB ethernet card, the AX88772B is just provided as a tested, works-out-of-the-box solution. If you want different model, you schould check if there is Linux driver for its chipset and if is supported by the default Debian image (if doesn't, you will have to build your own kernel). For example, I successfuly use D-Link DUB-E100 (the bulky silvery-and-gray one) on A13-MICRO.

I am amazed at the prices for these boards. Just the PCB can be around 10% of cost of the device. I wonder if Olimex assemble the devices.
