Title: TMS320-XDS100-V3 2-Pin JTAG
Post by: charlieevans on February 27, 2014, 04:40:00 PM
Hi All,

I'm new to TI products and especially the IEEE 1149.7 jtag standard, but I recently bought a TMS320-XDS100-V3 to program a TI CC2538 which uses this new JTAG standard. I am having issues using the TMS320-XDS100-V3 in that I cannot connect to the target chip. In code composer I get a cable break far from itself error when testing the connection. I also tried using SmartRF studio (which sees my connector but not the target) as well as uniflash. The pins I have connected are TCK and TMS (as per the standard) as well as Pin6 on the TMS320-XDS100-V3 connected to ground.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions for a newbie, they would be much appreciated!!!

Hey,

Make sure that you use the proper ARM_JTAG connector (it is next to the two TI JTAG connectors). Make sure that ARM_JTAG_E jumper is closed.

Follow the signal layout: https://www.olimex.com/Products/DSP/Emulators/TMS320-XDS100-V3/resources/JTAG_connectors_XDS100.pdf (https://www.olimex.com/Products/DSP/Emulators/TMS320-XDS100-V3/resources/JTAG_connectors_XDS100.pdf)

Best regards,
