Title: Eagle schematic files
Post by: a on September 02, 2013, 10:08:58 PM
Olimex provides pdf schematics for their boards, but is there anyway to get the actual Eagle files? The specific one I'm looking for is the PIC-P40

Hello a,

Not all Olimex-made boards are open-hardware. There are variety of reasons why we don't release the Eagle files for all our boards. The boards which we provide Eagle schematics for, are marked with the open-hardware logo and also feature the open-hardware suffix in the URL address. For instance: https://www.olimex.com/Products/Duino/PIC32/PIC32-T795/open-source-hardware (https://www.olimex.com/Products/Duino/PIC32/PIC32-T795/open-source-hardware).

Best regards,
Lub/OLIMEX

I just want to know, what are the open hardware boards? And moreover I tried the link provided by you and I got the board files and I was trying to view the layers of the PCB using the View mate but I was not successful. Do I need different software to view these files?

Hey serkan,

As already mentioned each open source hardware board has the blue open hardware logo at the right side of its product name on its web page.

We mostly use Eagle by Cad Soft 4.16r2 for designing. However, the files should be compatible with the latest Eagle available. Cad Soft offers a trial version of their software that allows you to
inspect schematics and board files (without being able to modify them).

Best regards,
