[07:32:56] <Navaneet> Hi
[07:33:18] <Navaneet> This is Navaneet from Microgenesis Techsoft Pvt Ltd India
[07:33:39] <Navaneet> I have an issue regarding the board A20 SOM204 EVB
[07:34:03] <Navaneet> Can u please help me ?
[07:37:44] <Navaneet> We just recieved the board on Monday and we are trying to power the board, as it says on board, we are providing 5V DC to the board but the area on DC Jack connection is getting hotter
[07:45:46] <tbr> just a thought, are you sure that the polarity is right?
[07:46:07] <Navaneet> Yes.
[07:46:26] <Navaneet> I am using a wall adapter 5V DC
[07:46:52] <Navaneet> And i cross checked it with multimeter.
[07:47:11] <Navaneet> When the DC jack is not pluggedin, it shows 5V
[07:47:28] <Navaneet> But when i plug it to the board, it drops to 1.5V
[07:47:41] <Navaneet> Has the board been damaged ?
[07:49:46] <tbr> I'd recommend to try a different power supply
[07:50:20] <tbr> and double theck that the tip/core is positive, while the outside is negative
[07:50:57] <tbr> make sure it's rated for at least 2A, better 3A at 5V
[07:55:18] <Navaneet> Yes it is 5V 2A, Isee an LED glowing on the adapter without the board being connected
[07:55:39] <Navaneet> and the LED on the adapter goes off when I connect the power to the board
[07:57:56] <Navaneet> The components around the DC IN port are getting heated up quickly
[09:22:27] <leon-anavi> morning
[10:01:43] <tbr> I wonder what he was doing wrong… my bets are on polarity
[10:01:49] <tbr> good moaning leon-anavi
