[10:37:52] <leon-anavi> hi
[13:04:51] <braunr> hello
[13:05:18] <braunr> does iMX233-OLinuXino provide a convenient jtag interface ?
[13:05:54] <braunr> i've read about ARM-USB-TINY-H but i'm not sure about the required connectors
[13:07:42] <braunr> oh my bad, they're product references in the jtag category
[13:07:52] <braunr> never mind, have a nice day :)
[20:30:36] <oscar> hello, I just got an A20 olinuxino, but I did not buy the power supply. I got a generic one in a local store, but it has the option of using positive polarity or negative polarity. Which one should I use?
[20:37:12] <adj__> oscar, which a20 olinuxino did you buy? a20-olinuxino-micro or a20-olinuxino-lime/lime2?
[20:37:23] <oscar> micro
[20:37:46] <oscar> a20-olinuxino-micro
[20:38:04] <oscar> thank you for your help adj__
[20:38:33] <adj__> a20-olinuxino micro uses 12V power supply, right?
[20:38:58] <oscar> the manual says from 6V to 12V
[20:39:09] <adj__> yes
[20:39:31] <adj__> just to be sure you didn't thought that a 5V was enough
[20:40:36] <adj__> any sane board uses ground outside, positive inside
[20:40:40] <oscar> No, no, well I mean, the manual says 6 to 16V with 5 watts
[20:40:43] <adj__> let me check it for olinuxino
[20:41:41] <oscar> thank you, where do you check it?, I could not find the information (I do not know much of circuits but I am willing to learn)
[20:42:01] <adj__> SY0612E power supply for olinuxino-micro says: Equpped with a standard center-positive 2.1x5.5x11mm barrel connector.
[20:42:08] <adj__> so yes, positive inside
[20:42:18] <oscar> so, that means, positive polaroty?
[20:42:21] <oscar> polarity?
[20:43:01] <adj__> I understand that, but if you have a multimeter, check your power supply with it
[20:43:18] <oscar> I don't have a multimeter, haha
[20:43:27] <oscar> so, that depends on the power supply not the olinuxino?
[20:43:45] <oscar> a, sorry
[20:44:08] <adj__> olinuxino is positive in the center pin, ground on the outside, that's sure
[20:44:10] <oscar> the power supply has both options, if you connect the head in a way it is positive, if you sonnect it in a different way ot is negative
[20:44:20] <oscar> ok, perfect, thank you
[20:44:27] <oscar> ok, I'll set the power supply to positive
[20:44:35] <oscar> thank you for your help
[20:45:01] <adj__> a cheap multimeter is useful, anyway :)
[20:45:36] <oscar> ok, just for me to learn, if I get a multimeter, I would connect it to the power supply and that would tell me?
[20:47:03] <adj__> you connect the negative probe (black) to the inside, the positive (red) to the inside, if the multimeter reads a positive voltage it means that is positive inside, if it read a negative voltage the other way around
[20:47:07] <oscar> ok, just for you to know, I just connected it and nothing exploded and there is a red light on, so I assume it worked
[20:47:20] <oscar> ok, thank you, I am going to get one and read about this
[20:47:21] <adj__> sorry, the black probe to the OUTSIDE
[20:47:43] <oscar> ok, thank you, I will read around to learn to use it
[20:47:50] <oscar> thank you for your help
[20:48:32] <adj__> but most probably "positive" means "center-positive"
