[12:19:01] <tkoskine> Windows 8.2 for LIME announcement must have been too big hit. :)
[15:26:05] <bollam> hey guys
[15:28:43] <bollam> I wonder if anybody would be able to help me? I've recently purchased an USB-ISO from Olimex as I have ground loop issues with my audio interface. When I plugged everything in today it didn't work. As in nothing actually worked. It seemed like the audio interface was getting power but wasn't actually recognised by the computer. Tried out plugging a keyboard into it instead of the interface and same thing, while it did receive p
[15:31:51] <bollam> So I can only think of 3 things that could be the problem: 1 - the USB cables I'm using aren't good enough (although they did work when I just used them separately); 2 - I need an external power supply? ; 3 - The USB-ISO I got is faulty.
[15:32:13] <nedko> i see your first message cut
[15:32:21] <nedko> "while it did receive p"
[15:33:44] <bollam> Ok, lemme resend it in smaller chunks then.
[15:34:09] <bollam> 'while it did receive power the keyboard wasn't recognised by the OS. '
[15:34:23] <bollam> THat was the only part left from the first one actually.
[15:34:50] <nedko> do you see the device in lsubs?
[15:34:53] <nedko> lsusb
[15:35:16] <nedko> i had similar problem recently
[15:35:36] <bollam> I
[15:35:42] <bollam> I'm on Windows
[15:35:51] <bollam> But no it's not recognised at all.
[15:35:59] <nedko> i was attaching usb-serial cable between olinuxino (serial) and "bigger" computer (usb)
[15:36:21] <nedko> at the end i found that it works only if i use a usb hub between the device and the computer
[15:36:30] <nedko> *it was
[15:36:34] <nedko> ah on
[15:36:36] <nedko> i was
[15:36:37] <nedko> :]
[15:37:15] <nedko> ACTION cannot type obviously
[15:37:17] <bollam> If I connect the interface through USB-ISO it has the same effect as if I plugged in a a box of cereal
[15:37:29] <bollam> I tried the USB hub as well
[15:37:30] <Claude> nomnom
[15:37:33] <bollam> Externally powered
[15:37:42] <bollam> Nothing
[15:37:44] <bollam> makes no differnce
[15:37:47] <nedko> no idea then
[15:37:48] <bollam> *difference
[15:38:02] <nedko> sorry
[15:38:03] <bollam> Surely the USB cable shouldn't make that much of a difference?
[15:39:41] <bollam> Thanks anyway nedko
[15:40:07] <bollam> I think I'll e-mail Olimex and see if they've got an idea, if not I'll just return it.

[21:53:36] <a13oli> Hi
[21:54:03] <a13oli> How can i made a kernel with the ftdi driver?
[21:54:28] <a13oli> because the r18 doesn't work on mi a13 non wifi
[21:54:52] <Claude> compile the kernel as olimex described but active the ftdi driver in the kernel menuconfig menu

[21:57:26] <Claude> "If you wish to make your changes in the kernel configuration do:
[21:57:26] <Claude> # make ARCH=arm menuconfig
[21:57:26] <Claude> The menuconfig changes a .config text file, which you can view/edit even with a text editor like vi,nano.
[21:57:26] <Claude> With this command you can add or remove different modules for the different peripherals in the kernel. Be careful when use this as this may cause the kernel to not work properly."
[21:57:44] <Claude> sorry for spamming :)
[21:58:25] <a13oli> Claude thank you
[21:58:55] <a13oli> If i have the r18 kernel how can i uilt it in the SD card?
