Hi,
I am realizing a project where audio playback is central and interfacing sensors essential. My eye is on the i.MX233-mini board, since it is cheap and seems to have audio IO ready to use at the hardware side.

now I searched this forum for audio related posts and found out:

0) the posts i could find are between 5 and 10 years old
1) no one has got audio input working with usable quality.
2) audio output depends on manually patching a 3.xx Kernel
3) applying the audio driver patch to a 4.xx kernel didn't work for the only person writing about their attempt.

furthermore, I find that on the ALSA-project website there is no mention of any i.MX audio driver (https://alsa-project.org/wiki/Matrix:Vendor-Freescale)

I almost ordered 10 pieces of this board, but hesitate buying until someone can confirm that this board does actually play (reasonably) HiFi audio using a Kernel that at the sametime can make use of the GPIO to interface sensors. (And is available to download)

Hoping someone can supply some information.
