Are there microcontrollers that can be installed in PCI slots?

I was looking online for microcontrollers that would be able to connect to a computer through the PCI slot (or PCIe slot) to create an embedded microcontroller. I want to put sensors directly into a computer, so having an MC that is built in to the PCI would be great 192.168.0.1 router login 192.168.l.l.

Don't mix up PCI (the bus system) and PIC (a Microchip CPU family). As far as I can see nowadays only industrial PC's still have PCI or PCIe slots available for extensions. A lot of sensors are intelligent already and can communicate through I2C, SPI, RS232/485 or CAN. An USB to such an interface is a perfect tool to get the info into the PC. Also embedded controllers can accept non-intelligent sensors and send the data via USB to the PC. I don't see the need for a microcontroller on a PCI or PCIe interface.
