Dear All,

We are using A20 lime.
Will it be possible to connect it to USB HUB for expansion of USB ports for more than 2?
If yes, what hardware shall we procure for connection?
What kind of support we could get in OS? or does anything to reinstall in OS pack?

Regards
Niraj

Sure, you can connect additional USB hubs, no worries. It doesn't require any extra drivers. Make sure it is USB 2.0 compatible. Make sure you don't attempt to draw above the maximum allowed from the board's USB. For A20-OLinuXino-LIME the maximum current that can be drawn is as follows:

USB-OTG connector - 523mA
USB_HOST1 (near Li-Po battery connector) - 1000mA
USB_HOST2 (near Ethernet connector) - 523mA

Dear  Lub,

We have purchased USB hub with 4 ports and tried to connect it to HOST1 connector(1000 mA) port as well as PORT 2 (523 mA). When connected we were tried for mouse and keyboard but none of devices run.
We thought current sourcing could be an issue so tried with only mouse connected to HUB but it also still didn't work.
Is there any setting or driver needed if yes plz let us know?
How to get this worked?

Niraj

Dear Olimex,

which board?: A20-OLinuXino-LIME-n8G
which linux image?: A20-OLinuXino-bullseye-base-20211130-145129

You need to connect the USB hub to the USB-OTG port.

ok will check this and come back

Shelniraj

How to connect USB hub to OTG port since both ports are different connector wise?

LubOlimex

1) Get USB hub with USB mini connector;

or

2) Use adapter cable that fits between your hub and the board.
