About the images on this blog post: https://olimex.wordpress.com/2020/04/21/olimage-mainline-linux-images-building-script-for-all-of-our-olinuxino-and-som-boards/

First, congrats on the release :), I've been testing it on a A20-OLinuXino-LIME2-e16Gs16M (rev.K) since last week and it seems to be working fine :), I have a couple of questions though.

* When the image boots, I get this message on the serial terminal (also through dmesg)

[    3.054761] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: Couldn't get bank PG regulator
[    3.061580] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: request() failed for pin 198
[    3.068202] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: pin-198 (1c28c00.serial) status -517
[    3.075518] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: could not request pin 198 (PG6) from group PG6  on device 1c20800.pinctrl
[    3.086037] dw-apb-uart 1c28c00.serial: Error applying setting, reverse things back
[    3.093803] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: Couldn't get bank PG regulator
[    3.100600] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: request() failed for pin 202
[    3.107218] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: pin-202 (1c29000.serial) status -517
[    3.114530] sun4i-pinctrl 1c20800.pinctrl: could not request pin 202 (PG10) from group PG10  on device 1c20800.pinctrl
[    3.125221] dw-apb-uart 1c29000.serial: Error applying setting, reverse things back

I was worried seeing this message because I use both 1c28c00.serial and 1c29000.serial on my setup, but I tested reading through both serial ports and they seem to work fine. What does this message means? will it affect those serial ports in any way?

* The olimex-copy scripts works fine to install the image into the internal flash, but is there a way to copy the image so it boots from an external hard drive?

LubOlimex

Can you try apt update and apt upgrade and check if the serial issue persists?

You can't boot from external hard drive but you can transfer the file system there. I've added in our list of features requested, will see what we can do it to add in the scripts as an option to copy the file system to a hard drive.
