Dear Olimex,

I saw some new options ordering the A20 LIME2, but could not find Information what s16MB means in this context ?
(and do not want to guess maybe wrong and  didnt find anything in the manual, wiki, news and forum).

I did not found anything explaining difference of T2-OLinuXino-LIME2-s16MB-IND to T2-OlinuXino-LIME2-T2-IND ?
(and pros and contras to this option.)

As I understood: T2 is now industrial temperature range and the same as A20, e4GB is industrial too, but not n4G or n8G, am I right ?

Also will there be a T2-OLinuXino-LIME2-e4GB-IND, I can only find this options on the -MICRO and -LIME but not LIME2. is there a reason there is no such option and if not, will there be one T2-OLinuXino-LIME2-e4GB-IND and when ?

s16MB suffix means that the board has an extra 16MB SPI flash placed.

T2 is the name of the version of the A20 chip that works in industrial temperature range.

e4GB is type and size of additional flash memory, but eMMC chips are different for industrial and non-industrial versions.

Currently (29.08.2018), we don't sell industrial version of LIME2 with additional flash memory (neither eMMC, nor NAND).

There would be such a board. I can't say when.

I have been digging for this info as well, took me quite some time.

Why not put a simple text note e.g. on https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXino/A20/open-source-hardware (and other pages if other boards are the same), also may be to each wiki.

Something along the lines of (please correct if I got it wrong):

We offer several sub-versions of our A20 boards with different types (NAND, SPI, eMMC) and size (4MB, 8MB,16MB) on-board storage. Also some of the boards (marked IND) are suitable for industrial temperature (−-40℃ to +100℃ ) use.

[A link with some performance (io speed, life) data and other considerations (booting support) would really be great!]

As an example "T2-OLinuXino-LIME2-s16MB-IND" is an A20 (T2 is the IND grade A20) LIME2 board (i.e. 1GB DDR3 RAM, GBit NIC) with additional SPI 16MB storage on-bard and is designed for industrial temperature (−-40℃ to +100℃ ).

This is a good suggestion, and I would see what I can do but yes, you got some details wrong and I'm correcting you just in case somebody stumbles upon this post:

NAND and eMMC are different options from same category; SPI is entirely different category - for example you can have simultaneously eMMC memory and SPI memory but you can't have NAND and eMMC together.

Casually explaining NAND and eMMC are big memories suitable for either general storage or even booting and storing the entire operating system while SPI memory is small 16MB memory suitable either for initial boot or storing other details like MAC address, configurations, identification data etc.

Also the NAND memory options so far are 4GB and 8GB (n4GB and n8GB) while the eMMC memory options are 4GB and 16GB (e4GB and e16GB). Also the temperature range for industrial boards with T2 chip is -40 to +85 °C.

Thank you for looking into it.

And a table with: Memory options Nand emmc and tests on it could include the information if it can be used for booting or not. I do not know if it is possible to boot from a "s16MB" even only bootloader to include another /root disk (eg.SATA).

So so far I can sum there are following storage possibilities:
internal:  e4GB n8GB s16MB
external:  SD-Card, USB-Stick, sata

We need following data: Bootable, (estimated max.) Speed, life, power requirements, temp range, combinations, ...
