We are using 5 of A20-OLinuXino-LIME2-eMMC, revision E in production. I noticed that there are now revisions F and G in the source repository, but I can't find any information on what has changed with the new revisions. Can someone at Olimex shed some light on this?

There are three major changes:

In revision F:

1. Changed the GbE Ethernet PHY with a newer version (which has a new package). This change also affects the layout around the Ethernet PHY. This was done mainly because of the poor Linux support of the chip that we originally used which required dirty software workarounds. The new chip has very good Linux support.

2. The location of the RX pull up resistors had been moved to help the routing.

In revision G:

3. Improved the four 3.3mm holes that are used to attach the board to other surfaces - they are now also connected to GND.

There are also a couple of smaller optimizations that are not worth detailing.

Edit: Clarified why the major change was required.

Do the non-eMMC boards have the new ethernet chip as well? e.g. https://www.olimex.com/Products/OLinuXino/A20/A20-OLinuXIno-LIME2/ (I am looking to buy a board that is well supported by upstream kernel, but I don't need onboard storage)
