A whole heap of kernel fail - till now!

I compiled a kernel (3.4.79+) originally so I could have my rootfs on sata...

I'd forgotten just how much "fun" compiling a kernel is, aside from the odd bit of module hacking it's been more years than I want to remember since I configured a kernel.

Well from wifi to touch screen I was getting a whole bunch of fail, it took the ethernet to not work for me to do a sanity check...

Reverting back to an older kernel and stuff started working, just about then it dawned on me that some sensible chap(ess) had enabled /proc kernel config in the old kernel.

If you ever have difficulty configuring a newer kernel yourself diff-ing and only config against your most recent try is a great help...

So happily I have a new kernel - but it will have to wait for another day to see if sata rootfs will work with this new kernel.... :D

Does anyone know BTW is it possible to shutdown the board with lipo and usb otg power?

it seems to kinda hang and then if I hold down the power button it seems to switch off the display, but I have to press reset to bring the thing back to life...

anyone shed any light here?
