Is this shield suitable for EOG measurement?

Hi there,

Sorry to bother you, I have a quick question. I am looking to use this shield for both ECG and EOG (electroculography) measurements (separately)......it looks like people have been very successful with ECG.

However, what are the changes of using it for EOG? Would I need to add another amplifier?

Thanks in advance,
Jon

Hey Jon,

It heavily depends whether the levels of electroculography signals are of similar power compared to the electromyography levels. There is a good chance it would work since to move your eyes several muscles are activated.

I can't confirm nor deny such use of the SHIELD-EKG-EMG.

What I can confirm is that EEG-SMT (https://www.olimex.com/EEG-SMT.html ) can measure electroculography since I have personally tested it. The problem there would be to embed it in another board or to interface it on hardware level.
