Hello, I bought an A13-OLinuXino-WIFI board and a MOD-RS485 module (not isolated version MOD-RS485-ISO).
My OLinuXino has Android 4.0.3 (which came from the factory).
From what I could investigate the MOD-RS485 not really complies with RS-485 standar, since it is simply a serial port connected to a transceiver. According to the A13 datasheet, the UART maximum word length is 8 bits and the RS-485 standard requires 9 bits.
In any case would be something like a signal amplifier to ship long distances but of serial data.
Is this correct?

MOD-RS485 is just RS485 levels driver, it have no UART hence the host which drive it must take care for the number of bits etc
