Title: X-POST Olimex-ESP32-POE - anyone got any reliable 'starter code' they'd be happy
Post by: Kevin253 on May 06, 2021, 03:31:05 PM
For years I've 'developed' (fiddled) with Particle Cores and Photons. But recently, because for some of my applications a missed message is kind of critical, I've got sick of the unreliability of WiFi and wanted to go for something more rubust - ethernet. To that end I've bought some Olimex ESP32-POEs.

The ones where you must not plug the POE connected board into your computer at the same time!! Anyway I was just wondering if anyone had any reliable 'starter' code for establishing an ethernet connection,

maybe a watchdog, routines for reconnecting, that kind of thing? I'm aware Olimex themselves have a bare bones example but I was hoping someone might have some code they've fleshed out a bit and know to be reliable?  https://19216881.org/ https://1921681001.link/ https://19216801.digital/

Many thanks!

Not sure if you found Olimex guide about the example here:
