Title: Olimex-ESP32-POE -anyone got anyreliable 'starter code' they'd be happy toshare?
Post by: chetan99 on September 07, 2020, 07:58:30 AM
For years I've 'developed' (fiddled) with Particle Cores and Photons. But recently, because for some of my applications a missed message is kind of critical, I've got sick of the unreliability of WiFi and wanted to go for something more rubust - ethernet. To that end I've bought some Olimex ESP32-POEs. The ones where you must not plug the POE connected board into your computer at the same time!! Anyway I was just wondering if anyone had any reliable 'starter' code for establishing an ethernet connection, maybe a watchdog, routines for reconnecting, that kind of thing? I'm aware Olimex themselves have a bare bones example but I was hoping someone might have some code they've fleshed out a bit and know to be reliable? Many thanks!

A lot of software development environments have configuration for Olimex ESP32-PoE and you can use the libraries and examples in the environment provides.

What environment are you using?
