I'm new to posting on the arduino world. I have a arduino UNO. I know I can look on YouTube for things to do but I like reading stuff in text format for easier understanding.

I am looking for a simple project to do and was wondering if anyone has any good places for information.

There are many to be found on Arduino places - try a web search :)

Quite often Olimex give simple things like flashing a LED - have a look...

Check out "Getting Started with Arduino", by Massimo Banzi and Michael Shiloh, third edition, published by Maker Media, 2014. I got started by reading the second edition and it was a big help to me.
