Hi!
With teres it is very easy to swap system media - just plug in different microSD cards. So I figured I should make one with android to finally be able to use all those closed source apps, that I never would install on anything else.
Luckily Olimex already provides an android image at ftp://staging.olimex.com/Allwinner_Images/A64-Teres/android/ so the first part was quite easy!
Next came the tricky part - actually using Android:
- Maybe it's 20 years of exclusively using GNU bases systems, but finding my way around is quite the challange: Which version of android is installed? How much space is left on my card? Basic questions I haven't been able to figure out yet.
- Internal audio doesn't seem to work. Haven't tried with headphones yet. No idea how to configure audio anyway.
- When I start chrome (e.g. to install FDroid and get some familiar packages) I can't seem to leave it anymore or get to any global menu. (pressing Esc doesn't work)
- The keyboard works, but hotkeys don't.
Somebody got any input for me?
TIA,
Harald
