Title: A64 + 10' LCD CTS -> upper 3.5 cm of touch screen are insensitive
Post by: tbultel on March 16, 2020, 07:11:51 PM
I first thought it was a calibration issue, but when I run
# cat < /dev/input/by-path/platform-1c2ac00.i2c-event

I can see touch event only under the 3.5 cm upper strip of the screen.

Is this an hardware issue ?
Thanks !

I really think this is an hardware issue, and that my touch sensor has a blind zone.

I would like to send it back and get a refund
Thank you

you do not write which image do you use?
I just tested with our latest image from ftp://staging.olimex.com/Allwinner_Images/a64-olinuxino/linux/1.latest_images/ and it works
if you use other images please try ours and share your results

The used image is ftp://staging.olimex.com/Allwinner_Images/a64-olinuxino/linux/1.latest_images/bionic/images/Armbian_5.92.1_Olinuxino-a64_Ubuntu_bionic_next_5.2.5_desktop.7z

When monitoring /proc/interrupts, the interrupt counter at:
 33:     115394          0          0          0     GICv2  38 Level     mv64xxx_i2c

does not increase when I touch the blind zone.
I am switching to support@olimex.com,

Thanks

I can't reproduce the blind zone. Can it be badly bent or broken cable between the touch and the LCD driver board?

Can you show me a picture or video demonstrating the blind zone?
