Title: HowTO write boot tags on brand new (replaced) emmc on lime2 rev G
Post by: sgufa on August 01, 2019, 10:15:38 AM
Hi,
i've replaced a dead emmc with a brand new 5.0 one on lime 2. I've installed system with with nand-sata-install on emmc but it doesn't boot. Booting from sdcard i've found that /dev/mmcblk2boot0 and /dev/mmcblk2boot1 are not present. How to write those tags in order to make lime2 boot from emmc?

Make sure to always test with latest official Olimex image, which contains newest u-boot and newest kernel and most supported memories. You can find it here: ftp://staging.olimex.com/Allwinner_Images/A20-OLinuXino/1.latest_mainline_images/bionic/images/

eMMC doesn't require initial preparation (as opposed to NAND memories). If it doesn't work out-of-the-box either there is soldering problem or the memory is incompatible with u-boot or kernel.
