Title: MOD-LCD4.3 as a standalone Linux board
Post by: samuele on January 04, 2013, 11:02:28 AM
Hi,
I was watching at the MOD-LCD4.3 and I've seen it has a LPC-1788 Cortex M-3 processor, 32MB of SDRAM and a slot for SD-CARD.
Searching on the web it seems that emcraft has ported a version of the Linux kernel and a version of the u-boot bootloader to the LPC-1788.
On their page there are some boards using LPC-1788 and Linux, moreover they provide a git repository with the linux kernel sources patched for LPC:
http://www.emcraft.com/index.php/products/137
https://github.com/EmcraftSystems

I was trying to understand if it was possible to use the MOD-LCD4.3 as a standalone Linux board, loading the bootloader, the kernel and the rootfs from an sdcard and using the lcd display as a terminal video output...

Regards,
Samuele.

Hey samuele,

It seems possible on the hardware side to me but it will be better idea to ask EmCraft themselves. They know their software better.

Best regards,
