Title: MOD-USB-RS232 and PICKIT3 Programmer
Post by: rmoshiri on December 23, 2012, 06:20:16 PM
I got a MOD-USB-RS232. Need to program it using Microochip's MPLAB & PICkit3.
What cable do I need to support the smaller spacing of MOD-USB-RS232 connector
and PICkit3 J6 connector?
Also, What voltage level should I set the PICkit3 Programmer 2.
A brief setting and cable drawing will take all the guesswork out, and is helpful.

Hey rmoshiri,

Check this cable and it's schematic: https://www.olimex.com/Products/PIC/Programmers/PIC-ICSP/ (https://www.olimex.com/Products/PIC/Programmers/PIC-ICSP/). You can also make one yourself if you have the two connectors (0.1'' and 0.05'') available. Please make sure you have checked the ICSP signals on the following schematic (since they are mirrored compared to Microchip's): https://www.olimex.com/Products/Modules/Interface/MOD-USB-RS232/resources/MOD-USB-RS232-schematic.pdf

Best regards,
